The secret recipe for English walnut povitica was Grandma’s first gift to us, and the original remains our bestseller to this day. We crush farm-fresh English walnuts and fold in sweet creamery butter, honey and real sugar. Then we roll it by hand in just enough of our delicate pastry dough to bring the filling together into buttery, flaky goodness, just as we’ve done for three generations.

Each hand-rolled povitica has a net weight of 2.5 pounds and is certified kosher. Shipped in our signature Strawberry Hill gift box, povitica should be refrigerated upon arrival or can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

I was introduced to Povatica when I was 18. My Polish roommate’s mom sent a loaf to us each Christmas. Never tasted anything better, got the recipe and made my own every Christmas for years. It took me a day of grinding walnuts, kneading dough and baking and hoping for good results. Now I can just sit back and let you do the cooking. Love your English walnut bread. Brings back so many memories!

And it was a special treat. I grew up in KCK and was blown away when my sister sent me some povitica one Christmas. It's as good as grandmas! I now get a couple loaves a year and so do my grandkids.
