FOR WEALTH AND PROSPERITY
The Old World heritage of this povitica dates as far back as our original English walnut, for the popular poppy seed is a symbol of prosperity in Eastern Europe. We crush the poppy seeds and fold them into layers of sweet citrus, local honey and a touch of sugar. Then we envelop this filling in our handmade dough to create a traditional pastry that has been enjoyed for generations.
THE DETAILS
Each hand-rolled povitica has a net weight of 2.5 pounds and is certified kosher. Shipped in our signature Strawberry Hill gift box, povitica should be refrigerated upon arrival or can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

Heaven
My family is Hungarian and mákos beigli is my absolute favorite food, but we only got the good stuff when my grandma brought it from her friend with a Magyar pékség up by her place in Ohio. Since she passed away I haven’t been able to find anything close, but this is the perfect flavor, just a different form! I cried the first time I tried this. 100% worth the price tag to keep this tradition alive for me.

Unbeatable/Lots of Raves!
We grew up with poppyseed coffeecake from an old German bakery back in MN. We've been ordering your Povitica ever since we discovered it. It is a hit with our entire family, including our grandkids and my brother and sister-in-law who just visited us from MN and agreed it was better than the former poppyseed coffee cake, albeit quite a bit more expensive.

The Best
Far surpasses any poppyseed roll in any of the ethnic bakeries in my area. Very moist and plentiful amount of poppyseed filling.
