FOR WEALTH AND PROSPERITY
The Old World heritage of this povitica dates as far back as our original English walnut, for the popular poppy seed is a symbol of prosperity in Eastern Europe. We crush the poppy seeds and fold them into layers of sweet citrus, local honey and a touch of sugar. Then we envelop this filling in our handmade dough to create a traditional pastry that has been enjoyed for generations.
THE DETAILS
Each hand-rolled povitica has a net weight of 2.5 pounds and is certified kosher. Shipped in our signature Strawberry Hill gift box, povitica should be refrigerated upon arrival or can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

poppy seed povitica
This is my "go to" treat for myself. Over 60 years ago my Mom made poppy seed povitica from scratch and it was my favorite from the beginning. Strawberry Hill comes the closest to Mom's. And that, my friends, is a glowing review!

Sublime!
The Poppy Seed is addictive. English Walnut remains my #1, but Poppy Seed is right up there. It's flavor is distinctive and not a 'sweet' loaf. Now I have to have both flavors in my freezer at all times as part of my private stash! I think for all those out there who don't identify as having a sweet-tooth, this is a good choice. For the same reason, feel it would be a good gift for friends and family.

Poppy seed povitica
Although FedEx was delayed by 3-4 days with the delivery, the povitica was still fresh and delicious upon arrival. Can't wait to share it with friends!
