The secret recipe for English walnut povitica was Grandma’s first gift to us, and the original remains our bestseller to this day. We crush farm-fresh English walnuts and fold in sweet creamery butter, honey and real sugar. Then we roll it by hand in just enough of our delicate pastry dough to bring the filling together into buttery, flaky goodness, just as we’ve done for three generations.

Each hand-rolled povitica has a net weight of 2.5 pounds and is certified kosher. Shipped in our signature Strawberry Hill gift box, povitica should be refrigerated upon arrival or can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

The Povitica is delicious!! We are Eastern European and have enjoyed a homeade nut roll for years. Now, I get to send this to my parents who are in their 80s and they can not believe how delicious the Povitica is!!

My great grandmother came from Yugoslavia. She taught me to make it. A handful of this and a 3 handfuls of that ad pinches of this and that. I was sad when she passed at age 106 that I never translated to actual measurements. At her funeral, I met her cousin who did have it written down in cups and teaspoons. I made it myself for many years. It is very time consuming, about 5 hours to produce 5 loaves! Not to mention the cost of ingredients. Strawberryhill makes it just the same side by side it is extremely hard to tell the difference. All things considered, it is definitely worth the price!!! Yummy!

Excellent Potica just like the ones my parents use to make. Lost art. Rolling the dough paper thin, grinding the Walnuts, etc. my parents were pro’s.
