The secret recipe for English walnut povitica was Grandma’s first gift to us, and the original remains our bestseller to this day. We crush farm-fresh English walnuts and fold in sweet creamery butter, honey and real sugar. Then we roll it by hand in just enough of our delicate pastry dough to bring the filling together into buttery, flaky goodness, just as we’ve done for three generations.

Each hand-rolled povitica has a net weight of 2.5 pounds and is certified kosher. Shipped in our signature Strawberry Hill gift box, povitica should be refrigerated upon arrival or can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

My Croatian Great-Aunt used to make us walnut Potica, and after looking for the exact same taste and texture for decades, I have finally found it! I cannot rate this potica high enough. It is divine!

I eat a one inch slice of this per day! You're making a person who has never struggled with weight issues now get fat! Thanks Strawberry Hill! (just kidding, don't stop baking, I'm going to try other cakes and things soon; also, I'm not getting fat but I should be. Also, scratch the butter on top. This dessert needs NOTHING to enhance it. It's perfect.)

I first tried this povitica at the city market in Kansas City, MO almost 50 years ago. The price went up, as all things do, but the quality is the same--the quality is excellent! Tasty, moist, satisfying. A wonderful gift for friends and a favorite indulgence in my family.
